SLP is overpriced and overrated. You're much better off with other products. If you want great headers for an average price, I'd look at the Hookers. If you want budget headers (that are just about as good as the Hookers), look at the Pacesetters.

As far as an intake (lid), I've ran 2 TSP lids and liked them.

I would like to know this too. There is a lot of great info on the individual components but not a recommended setup.

I love my loudmouth. Im glad I got it. I paid $349 for mine. But now that im gettin ready to order kooks in a couple of days, im gonna try and find a borla muffler and put one in place of the resonator. I would recommend it to anyone, it sounds mean and I get lots of compliments on it. Good luck with your decision. As far as the intake, I love my FTRA. I would recommend it also, it works great with my MTI clear lid along with my K&N.

well...long tubes with cats....y pipe and a dual dual system would run you close to 1700...you could go kooks for the money...SLP headers flow well...but they hang notoriously low...if you plan on lowering your car at all, stay away from em. i like my slp lid...does good for me. one thing ya gotta learn on here is that people are gonna say different stuff and have different opinions...so you find what you like and get that. then you can truly decide...but it is nice to have everyones viewpoints first.

It's not the same thing though. Although Flowtech is a Holley Performance brand like Hooker, the Flowtech headers have junk welds and junk collectors. I think their flanges are thinner and fitment has been known to be a PITA.

Never heard of that. A local guy has Flowtech's and they are junk for fit. A close friend of mine has the new style Pacesetters and they fit better than another friends' who has Hooker's.

As for as the exhaust sysem, go to www.ls1sounds.com and listen to them. They also have pretty good descriptions of each at the bottom of each page.

I like the SLP headers because of the 3" y-pipe. I don't like the SLP headers because of the reduced ground clearance. I decided on Dynatech's instead. They fit nice and they're stainless steel.

I think the reason you don't hear much about flowtechs here is because they have a bad rep (and rightly so), for being junk. A friend of mine has tried 2 pairs on his car and neither fit right, so he sent them back and got hookers. Pacesetters are a better peice then flowtech IMO.

how does SLP manage to hook all these people??
I mean, SLP seems to be extremely overpriced on all of their parts.. yet people always seem to choose them first.

How do they do it?!

I'd love to be able to start a business and be able to do something like:

Me: Hi.. I want to sell your a part for 40% more than the competition charges, it will be worse (LTs hang low for instance), AND I will not honor my warranty! (Remember the story with all the firehawk hoods with crappy paint, that SLP didn't want to exchange, because they changed the name of their business ? )
Customer: Great! I'll take two!!

SLP gets noobs.

Pacesetters > Flowtech.

You would read more about flowtech being "crap" if that was news, and if more people had them in order to be have something to complain about.

One of my first mods was SLP CAI. If I'd waited till I knew I would have fast toys ram air or super sucker. I did enjoy my loudmouth for the 18 months I had it before I got headers.

BTW: Figured I'd throw this in here. The SLP bellows is used as an example a lot since it's roughly $50 and gains virtually nill. I bought a "hump hose" for $15 that does the same thing. However, the SLP bellows has a phenomenally good fit (the one I saw did at least), and it IS a better piece than a hump hose or fernco. Too bad it's $50 instead of $20, or I'd actually consider buying it.

SLP gets people because they think since they made the SS and Firehawk that they must be the best. To some people, ignorance is bliss.
