Default new mufflers

I have 18 inch bullet mufflers, and I can just feel a cop pulling me over soon. Man what a cam does to wake up the car sound. I was thinking of some 1 chambered flows to quiet it down some. I know they are only 6 inches long and will not help out that much, but has to help out some what. What do you guys think, or any suggestions. (These will replace the 18 inch bullets)

if you run the TDs out to the back, it will quiet the car down quite a bit. If you still need more, you can always add a second set of mufflers under the trunk.

I thought about all the different ways, running it out the back would be awesome, but i still think the car is too loud.

I think you would be surprised. A little bit of extra pipe after the mufflers will reflect the sound back into the muffler, especially if there are some curves in the pipe. For example, i have two magnaflow mufflers on my true dual setup which were loud as hell, almost as loud as dumps were while cruising. After I put my CME on, which was nothing more than two 90º bends and the tips, it quieted down to near stock muffler sound levels at idle and normal cruising... Maybe not really that quiet, but the sound reduction was quite dramatic from just adding the CME alone... I think runining it out the back could make quite a difference.

So, for duals on this, I would have to go under the axle because 3 inch pipe would be a bitch to fit over the axle. What do yall think about that, that is the only way to go or maybe some side pipes?

anything under the car is going to be pretty loud because it reverberates

i would try to fit a pair of dynomax ultraflow welded oval race mufflers under there. they will quite things down a good bit and still flow great so you wont lose and power.

if you really want to quite it down alot than you gotta go out the back

Thanks for the numbers and db levels. The only thing, with TSP exhaust, that will almost have to go under the axle. I would still have to think that 18 bullets would be louder than afterburners.

I've heard both in person (having owned the Afterburners). You'd be wasting your time by swapping the bullets out for Afterburners. If you want to quiet it down, then get some Magnaflow 4x9 Ovals. They were significantly quieter than the Afterburners, both at idle and part throttle.
