Default catch can and PCV question

I just got an AMW catch can. I installed it with the PCV in the stock location before the catch can. I don't like the way the hoses are routed with it like that. Can I put the PCV between the can and the intake instead of between the can and the valve cover????

I see no reason why you couldn't... but the PCV valve itself would still see all the oil, and it will not be protected, but the can itself should still catch most of the oil. I didn't like the hose routing on mine either, but I also thought about it like this.... the oil in the catch can... the farther away from the intake it is.. the better... maybe that's not the right way to look at it though.

It shouldn't matter but If you don't like the routing just run it back away from the intake manifold and do a custom line.

I'm talking about leaving the pcv connected to the intake like the factory instead of leaving it on the vent lines from the valve covers. With it like that it wouldn't see any oil. I have it the way the instructions say with the pcv in the line going to the top of the can, but it would have better routing with it in the vacuum line instead of the vavle cover line. I also tought about shortening the line from the front of the engine to the back and putting the PVC on the side of the intake instead of the front so the catch can line would not have to be bent a like it is now.

I would like to see the different ideas that everyone has talked about. Can someone post some pics?

I plan on custom doing the entire plumming for the whole PCV line away from the intake manifold. and around the egine bay with a custom clean tubing and one of Greddy's customer angled lines.
When I'm done I'll take pics...

I dump mine every ~3 months.
Obviously, it depends alot of how much your particular car blows by the PCV and type of driving your doing.

anyone come up with better ideas on mounting the catch can? I was thinking of putting my further back away from the front of the motor. Anyone?

I have mine on the driver side up by the radiator next to the fuse box. Long lines, but it works. I don't have EGR but didn't want to cover the AFR heads or buy the special bracket for it. I bought mine back when they were $70 and came with a simple bracket.

Sounds like yours mounted near the same place as mine.
