Default Stupid question.

Ok I'm buying a set of TSP TD's from a local guy tomorrow and in the next couple weeks they will be going in the car as well as my Pacesetter LT's. So I'm gonna buy 02 extensions, but of course since I have an ORX I need to do somethign with the rear 02's.

Here's my question. If I were to unplug the rear 02's would it make the car run differentely or would it just throw a CEL? The reason I ask is because instead of dropping $50+ on 02 simms I had a local guy tell me he'd delete my code for nothing.

Another question is this. Are 02 simms only there to keep the CEL from coming on or do they keep the car running a certain way. Sorry for the ignorance, but I just thought about what I still need to get and I was just curious.

Running without the rear O2s won't cause you any issues. You'll get the CEL but that's all.

The rear O2s basically let the PCM know that the cats are there. The fronts handle all of the tuning.

Ok cool. That's what I thought, but I've researched every mod and every mod I thought about on here, so I wanted to make sure first.

I'm not worrying about throwing a code when I'm driving to the guys house to fix it. Will I have to worry about it throwing a code again once I delete it once?

Once it's deleted. It won't come back.

You may be talking about something different here..............when you say he's going to clear the code, do you mean just delete the SES light? If so, yes, the code(s) WILL come back, no matter how much you delete the light. You may make it 100 miles, you maymake it 5 miles. However if he DELETES the rear 02's, it will not come back.

once you delete the rear 02s, you should not have the SES light anymore. If you do, there is something else going on. Good luck.
