I've got the same question. It's just about scared me out of getting the ASP when I do my cam swap. I wonder if people are having good luck with the SLP.

I have the new slp pulley and I have no complaints. very good quality and it has a large lip to prevent belts from being thrown. I also felt a nice SOTP differance in the upper RPMs.

I have the SLP pulley, it has been on for a year now, no problems. The design is built for longevity. No aluminum, all steel.

I believe my pulley just failed.. I noticed the outer edge of the belt was frayed, looked at the crank pulley and it was wobbling pretty good. I thought that maybe the bolt had worked loose. So, I bought a new belt and bolt and swapped them both...It still wobbled and the next day it threw the belt and destryoed it, car overheated, etc. The rubber in the middle of the pulley is coming out. So I think its shot. I was told it was an ASP pulley but I don't know since I bought the car used with it already installed.

Being that I bought the car used and didn't orginally buy the pulley, does anyone think ASP would replace it?

I had to ship mine back to them for inspection. They called me after inspecting it and told me the best they could do is a new SFI rated version for 50% of the cost.

What about the Powerbond pulleys that Texas Speed sells? Supposedly it's a Australian brand, and they just recently started stocking them? Anyone had any experience with them yet?

From what I understood, the Powerbond pulley is identical to the SLP pulley. Should be getting mine today, so I guess I'll find out. Texas Speed was having a really good deal on them, so I figured what the hell...

Note the yellow SFI 18.1 approval:

is it possible that people are having problems because of pulley alignment problems? i figure if the crank pulley isn't installed at the right spot on the snout, people may have issues with belt throwing. especially with ASP's piece which has lower shoulders. so a question for people with pulleys. what method of pulley install was used, how many miles ago and have you had any problems?
