Default Help with Kooks LT Install

I'm trying to install some kooks long tubes in a 2000 z28 a4 and they just wont go in. Namely the driver's side. I've tried everything and the car is jacked up dangerously around 2 and a half to 3 feet. I've scratched so much coating off already, I'm really getting frustrated. I though kooks were supposed to be fairly easy to fit. I read the driver side was supposed to go in verticle then turn and up, but nothing has worked. I think I may have to unbolt the transmission or something. HELP!

I hate to tell you this but you're going to have to loosen and remove the thru-bolt for the drivers side engine mount. Then you can jack up the engine on that side to give you that extra! (#%$@#) 1/2" clearance needed to slide them in.
But first...you did remove the steering shaft/knuckle correct?

I had to do the same thing. It's pretty easy after you do that.

Have you tried cutting off the block casting tab? After I cut mine off my pacesetters slid right in. It might be different with Kooks, but its worth a try.

before messing with the motor mount, undo the trans crossmember.. only 4 bolts and its not going to fall on you, the engine holds it up. But it will angle down a few inches which really helps with header installs.

Well that sucks man, I put Flowtechs on my last car and they went in like butter. I'm wanting to go with Kooks this round and that is BS considering their price

My kooks were a pain on the driver side too. Had to jack up the motor a few inches on driver side to get them in.
