If the car needs to meet emissions.. might be better to leave it alone.

What kind of emissions test do you have? If it's OBDII plug in you can pass anyway, but if they open the hood for a visual you will still need it.

i dont think they open the hood, they check the exhaust for certain gases and i think they might do an OBDII i can always ask =) i heard tho its better w/o it, but how much better for performance is it? if its a small gain like 5-10hp then ill keep it, i can live with that i guess =|

2001 and 2002 don't have an EGR.........so even if they did open the hood they won't know the difference.

You sure on that? I'm sure they have a database of sorts that tells them what to expect, I doubt they just memorize it.

I doubt they have a database that tells them which year had an EGR and which didn't. If you put on an LS6 intake (that doesn't have the EGR) and you remove the system, it will look totally stock. Some cars you can't ever see the EGR because of engine covers, etc.

In cali they check for this. They look under your hood and it lists all of the emission equipment your car is supposed to have. under a 98-00 hood it will list that you are supposed to have egr. Just because the 01-02's don't have egr, this won't fool them. It's not hard to figure out that a car that is supposed to have egr, doesn't. You will not pass if they check.
