Default conformation of compatibility

after doing a search and looking around as much as i can i still have a few questions and some things that werent to clear and if i could get them clearified that would be great.

the way i understood it the heads and such from an ls1 would fit on an ls2 block. ( the reason this is important is i like the zl 402 but i dont realy want the get the iron version and i currently have a ls1 block and heads) so im kinda of building this motor from scratch with a new block and worked heads and other parts along the way. but i wasnt sure what parts will and wont fit. such as do i need ls1 or ls2 parts. like water pump seals timing chain cover timing chain oil pump and the little things so if there is a post i missed that had a list of the things that will and wont work please direct me to it. or if someone knows let me know.

but the way i saw it the heads and intake are compatible between the 2 engines but what else is? so i know if i have to have the iron or aluminum version of the 402

thanks for letteng the newbie talk

ls2 specific

*front cover
*timming set
*cam sensor
*front cover
*front seal & gasket
*valley cover

ls1 KS will need to be mounted on the side or turned of with tuning. all your basics; heads, cams, headers, intakes, ect all bolt on the same as any GenIII. also, dont bother with the ls2 injector.

also there is no differences between the iron and aluminum 402's becides the obvious.
