Question Sweet Thunder Guys!!! (kind of long)

Alright so once again I am battling the exhaust sound (never ending) and I guess this question is mostly for stock cam, verter, and head A4 guys. Those of you out there (if any) do you get a low throttle, whizzing kind of noise from about ~1.5k to 3k? I do . ... and it drives me nuts. It's clearly noticable when your next to any kind of wall or embankment. I haven't rode in anyone elses car with headers, and I've let a few people drive my car and its not really noticable from outside. I have heard it on every exhaust set up since my stock one with a cut out. I have the TSP duals with Sweet Thunders and I was thinking about putting them RIGHT after the X then adding pipe as far back as it would go with room to dump as close to the axle as possible. Sound like a good idea? I remember the guy on the phone at S.T. telling me they like some "pipe" behind them . ....

Setups I've had:
Stock with Cut Out
4x9 Magnaflows with Dr Gas X
Hooker Ory and Catback
Hooker Ory with Sweet Thunder and turndown
TSP Duals with Dynomax's
TSP Duals with Sweet Thunders

Oh and I've checked and checked and re-checked for exhaust leaks everywhere, replaced header gaskets, checked plugs, wires, lid, TB, PCV, everything I can possibly think of or read on the boards about any kind of buzzing, whizzing kind of noise. I am getting a 3.42 rear and I hope that will make my shitty auto sound better since it will be up in the RPM's more. Any other suggestions besides a nasty cam and verter? Sorry for the long post. . .. I'm beginnig to think that sound is just associated with a LS1 with headers.

I've noticed my car making a little racket around 1.8k - 2.5k after my first header install. I think it's got a little better since I switched from mac mids to long tubes but that could just be the exhaust louder. Sweet Thunders do have a very distinct sound on an M6 between shifts, but I don't know on an A4..

Can't say i've heard the whizzing your describing, but i have a cam, and a M6. The Sweet Thunders sound great until the 6th gear 1.8k-2.1k drone rears it's ugly head.

mine has that annoying raspy drone at ~1700-1900 rpms mainly just in 6th gear. I can deal with it though because I'll just drive around it. The exhaust note is well worth the small rpm range of the rasp/drone. You won't really find anything that won't do that when you take your cats off and have long tubes.

Thanks 777, thats kind of what I figured. Mine only does it part throttle in OD, so I guess that sounds about right with the RPM's. I will say however if you add some pipe behind those Sweet Thuders they only sound better. It sounds unbelievable now! If I could only loose that damn raspy noise . ... oh well I guess thats what the radio's for right?
