Default Headers/Y-Pipe Or Induction Package???

Ok, I know you guys are probably tired of hearing these questions, but try to indulge me

I have enough money right now to EITHER get a set of Flowtech LT's w/ y-pipe, OR a lid/K&N/Z06 MAF/smooth below package from TSP.

For right now, I'm just going to run a single 18" bullet muffler dumped before the rear axle. I ordered that today.

What I'm wondering is with that exhaust set up, would I benifit more from the induction pkg or the LT's/y-pipe?? I'd like to get the latter of the two, but with absolutely NO extra air coming in up front I'm not sure how much I'd get from the LT's/y??

Right now I'm leaning towards getting the induction pkg and saving up again for the LT's/y-pipe, figuring that with the pkg and exhaust I'd have a better balance for the time being...

Opinons????

TIA, Jon

idk how much the Slowtech headers cost, but id change that to coated pacesetters (380 at TSP) and get that, depending if the Slowtech's are that much more, get athe CAI and/ or a lid

I would get the induction stuff first. I would buy a lid, pullies, ported tb, ftra or ssra. I would not mess with the MAF sensor, and the bellows is an appearance mod. When you do decide on buying some LT's I would buy some pacesetters over the flowtech's. Hope that helps, good luck!

I don't have enough to get the PC's AND a y-pipe. You can get painted FT's for $225, and coated for $325. Their y-pipe's are around $100.

Basically I have about $3-350ish to spend. I could get the painted LT's and y-pipe for $325ish or, the induction pkg for the same.

IMHO (and from all my past header experience), they all do the same thing assuming same size primaries/collectors/etc. Fit-'n-finish may be a little better, but that's it. I'm not going into another coated v.s. painted headers debate, IMO it's not worth it, and I'll just leave it at that.

Forget about what "type" of LT's I'm looking at, the question is- Would you get the LT's/y-pipe or an "induction pkg"??

I'm curious anyways as to how much whp I'd be looking at with that "package" over stock. Anyone have any imput???

LTs and Y pipe. Smooth bellows is not worth the $$$. Go w/the Home Depot version and save youself about $44.50

Get a lid, ssra, and the pullies first. Don't mess with the MAF until you are pushing past 500 hp.

Get yourself a good set of headers, stainless steel, if you can especially if you have rust problems with your environment. No need to spend money twice on the same equipment, do it right the first time.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

Its up to you, either one would be fine to start with. I started with all the induction stuff first then got headers. So my vote goes there.
lid/K&N/Z06 MAF/smooth below package from TSP.
- That should give you 15 hp or so.
a set of Flowtech LT's w/ y-pipe
- Should be around 25 or so.
