Default ASP Pulley (NON SFI)

I am about to pick one of these up but was just making sure that I actually should purchase it or not. I have heard that the Non-SFI approved ASP pulley will not mount up to a double roller timing chain setup and doesn't have the raised belt walls to prevent belt throwing. Is it worth the trouble of getting this older pulley and saving a good bit of cash or should I just wait and save up for something nicer/newer?

Is anyone still running the Non-SFI version and are you having any problems? Thanks in advance guys.
