Default slit in radiator baffle

i just ordered a new baffle for my radiator beacouse im going back to stock from a fra mod and i was wondering why they purposely put a slit in the rafdiator baffle... when i was under the impression the baffle was to seal off that compartment to force air to flow thru the radiator .....????

i undid my fra mod ..i figure its kinda a loose loose situation if you have a ws6 hood

you put the fra in and your sucking up hot air while not allowing your radiator to work at its best...

you do a ssra and now your fucked!.. really cuts off alot of air for radiator and tranny coolers this will = +10deg rise in coolant temps in my car ...

i mean i guess its ok for a non ram air car beacouse its good you get air flow to the engine but if you already got ram air or have added it (my case) pull the fra mod and give your cooling system a brake

I run a WS6 hood, lower airbox on my car with the Whisper ram air (FTRA style). Figure more air is better

thats sound logic but what im saying more is not better when to get more than you MIGHT need comes at a price of higher coolant temps.. i mean my car with a 160 thermo and good fan settings hovered in the 190's i was kinda hopeing for 170's..i think now im just gonna try and seal off the ws6 hood to the air box and im hopeing that will flow good
