Default Electric water pump worth it?

I have been thinking about getting a Meziere electric water pump for a while, but i didn't know if it would be worth it just having h/c.Should I wait for the 408 ,or will I see some good numbers putting it in right now?

Default meziere pump

I would do it now, its a great mod and shes pretty too. Less parisitical draw is always good. I would solder the wires to be safe, to get all you can out of it, it will not run at the rated gpm if it has a bad connection.

If you don't have cooling problems, then I would pass on the electric water pump.

I have one, but have decided I could have gotten a better return on dollars spent to gain HP, than to have spent it on a water pump. Even if you install it yourself, it's going to cost about $500.

A lighter set of rear wheels, a better exhaust, a dyno tune, or a set of nittos (each all around $500 or less) will get you from point a to point b a lot quicker than a $500 dollar electric water pump.

I believe it was tested at 8 to 10 hp on the top end.

I didn't get it for the increse in HP. I got it for cooling purposes and works awesome at the track when sitting in the staging lane with the fans and water pump running with the engine off. You just watch the temp go down in a matter of minutes, works like a charm.

EWP is not necessary for a DD, just depends on what your needs are. There is also a mechanical version that's out that does a good job of cooling and would be a good idea for the 408 as well. Just another option.
