Default Doing away with PCV......

Thinking about doing away with the PCV system on my O2 Z-28,
and installing a breather on each valve cover.......Has any
of you guys done this?

Sounds like a large vacuum leak to me.

I guess your justalking about the PCV valve right? The one connected to the hose in front of the passenger valve cover to the TB. The entire PCV system starts under the intake with the valley cover. Anyway if you do away with the PCV valve ( I wouldn't) and just go with breathers, expect a hella messy and oily engine bay.

I would keep the pcv system. The breathers will let some oil out and will just be a mess. Our late model circle track car only has berathers and we have to rap shop rags around them and change them for every race because of the oil

Sounds like you need to restict the oil to the top of the engine.
Or maybe some baffles.

I just intsalled one breather on my buddies 01 SS in place of his oil
cap. Have had no oil leaks from it. My reason is to keep any oil at
all from going back into the engine.

I think you're talking about not letting any crankcase blow-by back into your induction system. If so, what makes you think that is bad?

PCV system helps evacuate crankcase of blowby gases and gas build up from oil system, promotes better ring seal, and less pumpin stress on the rings..........in other words do not remove the PCV system......a shitty one is better than none at all
