$2 TB bypass
You just have to get to NAPA in the 2 hours that they are open every day

Edit: See a four posts down for more info.

They are technically brake lines, not coolant pipes, but they serve the correct purpose. NAPA has them in assorted sizes in tubes in the back. They are 8" long and have two movable, threaded washer-type things on them, so you have to cut them down to the right size. I bought the 5/16" (1/4" is too small to seal to the passenger-side hose) size pipe and cut out about a 4" section of it (it doesn't have to be exactly 4", just make sure there's enough to bridge the gap between the two hoses).
They also had rubber vacuum covers I guess they're called. NAPA has them lying around behind the counter somewhere in a plastic container with all the assorted sizes. Get one in 5/16" and one in 1/4" since the pipes on the TB are a different size. All you do is slip these over the pipe ends that you're bypassing on the TB to prevent junk from getting in there.
It was $2.11 for the pipe and rubber covers!

Do you have pics?
Sorry, I'm still waiting for a chance to take a picture.
I'm with you on the napa thing. I love napa they have great parts and half way decent people working there but there never open and the two stores that are near me both have different hours and one is open sundays. Sundays are like prime time for a parts store and they close so early in the week like 5pm i think. There hours really suck.

that is what I did.
