Default header break-in

Is there any type of break-in procedure for headers. I have coated pacesetters installed (no y-pipe, thats a whole other story ). But I'm gonna drive the car around the block with open headers. I was planning on taking it easy the first time and letting them go through a full heat cycle before really standing on the gas and having some fun This the right way to do it or am I just being too careful?

No break in on headers. I dont know of anything that could happen to a header from "standing on it" either.

Just drive it.

Yep, like everyone else has said, there is no "break-in" time for headers. Install them and enjoy. The only thing you might want to do is to start it up and let it sit at idle to let the grease and other crap (from where you have touched them with your hands) burn off before you take off.

I always check the header bolt torque after the first heat cycle.

break in, no...but the header bolts can be a PITA. Start it up, let it idle for 10 minutes, shut it down and check the torque. Start it, drive it for a day, check the torque. Check torque every day until it stops loosening, then check it every week until it stops loosening. By then you shouldn't have to check it but once a month or so, but it shouldn't loosen anymore. Saves you from having to put those stupid little tabs on them from the stage 8 kits, which invariably get lost, or are half impossible to get on the bolt heads...
