Default Need Advice, About to install pacesetter headers

I just got my pacesetter LT headers and tsp y pipe. I just would like any input and information on how to make the installation a lot smoother and easier. I also will be using a lift. THANKS

Get the car as high as you can (safely-I bought some ramps and then jacked it up a little bit more and it worked ok) Since ur on a lift u'll be fine.

take the oil dip stick out (just yank on it after you've unbolted it)

take the steering shaft out (one? bolt up top and one toward the bottom)

reuse the factory manifold gaskets (pacesetters gasket sux)

keep the plastic from the pacesetters on the headers and tie some tape around it at a few spots so you won't scratch your car or headers while trying to get them in-once they're in just rip it off

I don't think you NEED to but I took off my coil packs to give myself more room - if you can take yours off relatively easily I'd take them off.

Take your time and have fun!

take the coil packs off the passenger side, I didn't have to take the steering apart, but you should get some different header gaskets. Also I don't know what cat-back (if any) might require some intermediate pipe shortening. Happy install. Also change the plugs/wires while you are in there.

Well, I'm in the middle of an install, LOL. I've got a FUBAR'd nut on one of the cat/manifold flanges that I've been chiseling on for an hour. I've spent more time trying to get the stupid cats off than anything. The drivers' side manifold and cat will drop out the bottom. Looks like the pass side won't (where the f'd up nut is, of course).
Ah, well, back to it. Maybe my dremel is recharged by now.
Soon it will be........ and the rest will wait!
Luck,
Gerald

I'll be doing the pacesetter install soon as well. I just read the entire install write up and was wondering since pacesetter has since made revisions for fitment issues, if there was still any clearancing that I would have to accomplish.
