QTP HVMC guys inside please. Just got my 1 3/4 HVMC headers and the collector after the merge is smaller than the opening in the y pipe. It is a really loose fit. Is this normal. I measured the collector and it isn't quite 3 inches (2 15/16ths) outside diameter and the y pipe is 3 1/16th. So I have an 1/8th of an inch to make up with the clamp. Maybe it is just smaller than I was expecting I guess. Any body else have the issue? Thanks.

I like getting those band strap clamps. Those thing will seal real well. They are basically a 16 or so gage sheet metal. Tighten & it seals all the deformities between the pipes. You can get them at napa etc, they are mostly used on diesel trucks tractors etc.

I understand they bump up the size of the y so it over, but the HVMC collector will actually move side to side in it. Just seems a little much to me.
