Default Headers...

I had a set of SLP long tubes on my 02 that was recently stolen. Now I'm working on a replacement car. Likely a 35th LE. one of the first things I'll need is headers and while I loved the SLP LTs they did hang a little low (especially with Bilstein susp, and I want to go lower) I've also heard that SLPs were not the best performing headers on the market.

My goal is to keep on going with what I was doing only with a new car. That will be stock bottom end with 61cc chambered 5.3 heads with Manley 2.02/1.575 pro flows. Cusont ported and rechambered.

The cam will be a Futral F13 or F14.

I want headers that not only taste good, but have good tase, I.E. I want good performance through the curve and show class fit and finish. Polished aluminized ceramic coating is a must.

Well what say you ole gearhead gurus????

Linky to any pics, prices etc?

Their website says "Coming soon" on all of the links.

I've heard goos things about Kooks, how much do the cost and do they come with a Y-pipe and can I use the SLP high flow Cats (I beleive they were rantdonm tech?)

Are they 1-3/4 x 3" and are they coated and polished? Will they clear decent with a set of Eibach sportlines or Pros, whichever are lower?

Search, read sticky at top of forum.

Put simply: Best of the best are kooks/qtp. Are you willing for fork over the dough?
If not, get pacesetters. Coated for $350.

I have Jet-Hots and am satisfied with them. They are rusting on the lower half, which makes me wish I had stainless steel but there is no way I was going to be able to justify spending that kind of money at the time.

I ordered my Kooks from Tbyne during their header sale. You can also get them from several of the sponsors, Rapid Motorsports, Speed Engineering, Speed Inc, SDPC...

BTW, Has anybody tried polishing stainless steel?

i would go qtps. thats what i did. i dont know how true it is but from what i hear a coating, like jethots, will chip off stainless. BUT i may be wrong. i think slp uses a differnt grade of stainless that holds the coating. if your looking for awesome ground clearence i would not go the qtp y pipe. mine hung very very low and scraped everywhere. with all those mods you have planned, i would do duals for better flow anyways.
