Default Spark plug issues???

I just spent 4 hours putting in a set of Bosch Platinums in the car(I know that's pathetic, but my big ol' arms don't fit in those crevices), and it ran smooth as silk over the weekend. Tody, the SES light is on(AGAIN!!!), and it misses about like it die with the original plugs I replaced. What gives???

Maybe you have a bad O2 sensor? I also have the bosch platinums, and the car runs fine. Ive had them in there for a little while now, but when I get to 100k, Im gonna change them out and put some new plugs in, I think Im going to try the Denso Iridiums. I think your plugs will be fine though. My car runs fine with them. Never has any idleing problems, and when I had my car dynoed before my LT's and ORY, my air/fuel was straight as an arrow across the sheet. I think your problem might be elsewhere. Let us know and good luck with it.

Hey thanks, man. It just seemed odd that it would idle so smooth for a couple days, and then go to missing like it did with the old ones... not like it's dying, just every now and then a definite miss.

I'd have bought a set of iridium plugs this go-round, but at $15 a piece I couldn't swing that.

Take it to auto zone and let them scan the car for what codes are stored in the computer. it's free otherwise you will be throwing money around trying to fix what isn't broken

I just switched by bosch 4s out and got the cheapie ngk,s

the bosch-es ran OK and i think they are still good - our voltage is really high at 100K per zap. ...this makes plugs last and engines run well...

i would say plugs should last qat least 50K...

I put them in at 83k, so when I get to 100K they will come out and Im going to try another plug along with some other maintenance to see how they compare and if there is any difference, until then these plugs work fine.
