Default BG Ram Air Problems? Updated

After almost 2 months of waiting for it to arrive, I finally installed the BGRA. The system should have been on all Ram-Air cars from the factory. To all that already have it, did the bracket fit in the hood opening? I had to enlarge the opening a 1/4 inch to get the lip to fit and the holes didn't line up so good.(2 screws wouldnt go in) Did you leave the washers off to get the screws in?

I got mine 3 years ago and i only had to wait about 10 days. When I installed it the fitment was perfect. I didn't have to alter the hood or anything else. It was kind of a hassle trying to get everything to line up since I was doing it by myself. I also ended up using the washers, but not on every screw. Only problem I had was that a couple of the screw backed themselves out and were rolling around in the bottom half of the airbox. Other than that I've never had a problem. At almost 90,000 miles and still working like a champ. Just my two cents.

Awesome results, Im guessing you got better than average, because of your cam. Im still waiting to get mine in. I did hear that he is going to stop making these kits soon, I think they said he was on his last production run.

I installed mine in Sept '02. It fit fine with no trouble and seemed well made. I no longer bother running with the rain blocker plate and never had any trouble. The K&N filter seems to stop enough of the water to not need it short of a tropical storm.

My only complaint with it is the rubber/foam gasket itself. It seems to break down under hot environmental conditions quickly. I would order a few extra to keep around for future years.

Mine was perfect. I put it on my WS6 back in late '00.

Sorry to hear that Brian Greene is going to stop production. He builds a great product.....

The install can be a pain in the *** because of the postions you have to be in to install it.

Also the 1st gasket i went through fast. It tore away from the plastic thing and bought a new gasket. Other then that it's been fine.

I bought mine directly from Brian Greene @ WS6 Performance Innovations or something like that. Years later, he started selling the kits through Speed Inc as well.

As was said above, some of the angles you have to work at to do the install were a pain, but otherwise it's a great kit. Dropped my IATs by 30-40* under some conditions. Great product. I was still using the original gasket when I sold the car, it was still in perfect shape after 4 years.

That was the only thing you changed on your car to get those gains?

I just ordered the BGRA from Speed Inc yesterday and paid for the UPS 2nd Day Air. I should expect it Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll post pics after the install.
I hope I dont need to order a new gasket years later if this kit wont be in production anymore

Dmnspd- BRGA is all that changed from last track time. The filter was really dirty also, so I'll change it before MIR.

According to someone I talked too at afterthoughts, they said Brian will still be making the replacement gaskets.
