Weird Problem With TB Bypass A friend and I decided to do a TB bypass just yesterday. He drives a 1999 T/A A4 and I drive a 2000 Z28 M6. I have an SLP lid so I have some free space under the hood. I completed the TB bypass successfully. The hose isn't touching anything at all. His bypass didn't go so well. At first it wasn't rubbing against anything. We went out for a drive and suddenly there was a weird noise coming from his engine so we pulled over and checked it out. The hose had rubbed up against the idler pulley which cut a hole in it. There was anti-freeze everywhere. So now he has to get a new hose which shouldn't be a problem, but is there a way to keep the hose in a safe spot. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, i had the same prob, but before i drove it and found out the hard way, i moved the line around by hand to see how much free play i had. what i did was Take some black cable ties zip ties what ever you call them and zip em too your a/c lines that go to your condensor. dont put it real tight up against it just enough so it keeps away from pulleys and other moving parts.
