black smoke
black smoke went for a cruise with a couple of my buddies last night. we were just messing around giving it wot every so often. when we stoped my buddy said when i had it at wot black smoke came out of my exhaust. anyone have an idea what that could be?
I have the same problem bro, when i get on it wot, espically on a down shift, i have black smoke come out from under my car, its cause its running ritch, it only started doing it after i added my exhaust system and took off my air and egr. it needs a trune, im like you i dont want to spend that kind of money, but only because i plan on a cam in the future along with a few other mods, i guess ill just spew black smoke and burn lots of gas until then. The way i see it, better a lil' ritch then lean!
If the car is overly rich it can be bad as well.
Fastech, where my car was tuned, offers one free complete retune after the intial tune. So if I were to get a cam installed it would cost me nothing extra. You may want to check into this with your local tuner. Especially if the only reason you're holding off on a tune is because you're gonna get a cam down the road.
