I own an 86 bmw 635csi. My AC is a little iffy, sometimes it blows alright, sometimes it doesnt... Anyway I was thinking, is it possible to change out my compressor for that on a larger car, say an excursion or an expedition or something? I have a good amount of room in my engine bay so i should be able to accomidate anything space wise...So, is it possible?

That type of AC uses an expansion valve vs. orrifice tube. You would want to find a system that uses the same type of compressor (non-switching). Otherwise you'll be swapping a lot of tubes, switches and electronics.
It's actually easier to fix what's wrong with your current system since the 80's bimmers had pretty good systems to start with. As a matter of fact, you probably just have a bad expansion valve.
