Default Problem w/ intake swap

so i removed the intake, and broke the oil pressure sending unit... so i got one off of a 2001 camaro (mines a 2000) i seem to have "0" oil pressure in the gauges on my dash, it worked fine in the other car... anyone have this happen to them when swapping intakes? is my 2001 sending unit not playing with the 2000 computer? or did i smash a wire or break something do you think... i tried to get my hand back there but i cant feel it at all..btw swaping the intakes on f bodies sucks bigtime

01-00 Oil sending units may have the same part #, Thats why you have to call your local Dealership and see what the parts numbers are.
If you're not get any reading on your gauge, then something is hooked or connected. you just gotta eliminate the simple things first, maybe buy a knew sending unit?

I broke mine too but bought a new one. You're right about it sucking to do the intake swap. I thought when they weren't connected or if they were broke then it would max out the gauge instead of reading zero?

If the sending unit is broken off, it'll read excessively high oil pressure

Actually, you have it backwards. If the sending unit is broken, it will read zero. If the sensor is left unplugged, it will read max.

pay someone to do it for you. i know a guy here local that would gladly remove your ls6 intake, replace your sending unit, and install an intake with less use for cheap. pm me.

howd you break the sensor? Removing the old one of puttin on the new one? If you were removing did you forget to lift the booster line over it? I think thats what breaks it isnt it? If I remember right.
