Air Box Question (probably Stupid) I recently purchased a 98 ram air trans am(not ws6). Whats the difference between the air box on a WS6 and a regular trans am. Basically im asking...if i took off the black air box cover, wouldnt that make it the same thing as a WS6 air box? I mean that would be forcing the air into the engine....and sence the ram air shoots the air DOWN INTO the filter..wouldnt that keep all the air clean...EUGH give me a link or something so i can figure it out 
ram air is only "functional" on the ws6. the difference between the air boxes is that the ws6 opening is like twice the size as the non ram air ones. It should feed air through the front of the box. you'll see the opening there, since its not a ws6 it'll look like an opening about the width of your opened hand. if you took off the air lid (air box cover) the air your engine gets wont be going through the filter. now if you have a ram air hood from suncoast like me (which it sounds like you do since you're under the impression the air is going "down") the underside of your hood will have a big square cutout which feeds from the ram air nostrils. the only thing you can do to make this functional is to get the suncoast ram air box which fits the hood. I dont suggest this as the last time i checked they were charging 300 for the whole thing.
