Thanks LS1-Tech !!
Having this site as a resource was invaluble .... thnx for being here !!!
After getting the headers installed, sims connected, O2 extensions attached, new NGK Iridiums, MSD 8.5 wires, Taylor 1200 degree heat sleeves, new percey gaskets...... the ses code was lit and the car ran like ****......did not pitch a fit however, remembered noting that after a couple days and a few miles performance would improve, and sure enough it did and she runs smooth and perfect, ses light a memory....
did not see this mentioned anywhere so I will pitch in my two-bits.... trying to line up the header flange holes with the rather thick and uncooperative gasket holes with the holes in the block was a treat .... I found myself wishing I had bought the rather slick but outrageously priced ARP stud bolt / nut set to hang the gasket on while aligning header flange holes.... after chewing out my assistant mechanic (wife holding header) numerous times for failing to hold the header still.... having recieved a new set of bolts from Jet-Hot, I took 3 of my former stock bolts and cut off the heads with my dremel, created my own temp studs and screwed them in a few threads at each end and one in the center.... hung the gasket off the "studs" the flange slipped right on and I got the bolts started in the remaining 3 holes with ease... unscrewed the finger tight studs and stuck in the last 3 bolts.... it worked terrific.
