Odd spark plug question...
Odd spark plug question... I dont know if i am the only one who has this problem, but has anyone else had the issue of their spark plugs backing themselves out over time? I have to tighten my plugs once every 2-3 months...Its not bad, a 30 minute job at the most, but its rather annoying. Can anyone think of a way to get it to not do this other than lock tighting them? I am not wanting to do this cuz they are a PITA to change already! lol
My wifes Isuzu Rodeo used to have that problem (also had aluminum heads). I was always afraid to tighten the plugs any more than was suggested. I think it was always the same plug IIRC.
I don't think you would want to locktite them as they need conductivity (unlike a bolt), and the locktite may cause bad grounding.
I ended up putting in a heicoil on that plug hole and the problem went away (well, at least until we traded in that POS)
