Default Help!! Ls6 Intake

okay, I'm having a problem pulling the stock intake off my 98. For some reason, it seems to be catching something on the back. I have reread all the steps on ls1howto, and I've double checked everything. There seems to be something else bolted in the back not letting it come further out. The front will lift up, but the back seem to be catching something.

I know about the whole oil line breaking etc...but I haven't got that far yet, It wont even come forward at all.

I'm getting really frustrated, I can't think of anything right now

Please help ASAP

The only thing I can think of is the power brake booster line.Thats what usaully breaks evreyones oil sending unit. The only things back there are the map wire, the small vacumn line by the map,the oil sending unit, and the brake booster line.
If you can unplug the booster line from the booster and see if you can move the intake any.I'm assuming you got all the intake bolts out.
Thats all I can think of.

Make sure your tape the bolts up in the rear(don't hold them up, but tape them) or you will NOT be able to pull it forward. I would also check the brake booster line, just pull it out of the booster. There is 2 plugs on the intake as well, one going to the MAP sensor(center of intake), and one on a mounting bracket that is held on by the back two drivers side bolts.

-Not sure but I think in 98(don't have one) but the AIR box(weird thing with huge hoses over the dirvers side coil pack in the back) has a 15mm bolt that is threaded into the back of the cylinder head. Not sure if this bracket is also bolted to the intake on 98, thought I heard that somewhere. If it is try and remove that bolt(really hard with the intake on).

ok guys, I've removed the intake

Just needed a little shake to it, and it slid right out. I hate when its just something really small causing a big frustration. Anyways, I'm putting the LS6 on tomorrow, because its dark outside and I have no light. Plus I'm gonna clean everything out.

Thanks for the help guys!

i just got mine done also! the only frustration i had was the damn hose going to the back of the intake....AHH! i just disconnected the hose from the brake booster or w.e its called and allowed me to pull the intake out enough to disconnect the line.
