Default My Impressions on Mac Headers

I recently Had Vinci Hi Performance in Orlando do the install. They did a great Job with the install.I had encountered a problem with the fitment, the driver side header was rubbing against the steering y joint under hard acceleration. So the next morning, I did some modifying and now there is no more rubbing. I probably will be installing some poly urth engine mount bushings later on.The car really woke up with the install of Mac headers and catted Y pipe.Seems Like so many people down grade these headers, they go well with Loud mouth exhaust.I am really pleased with the set up. I cant wait until I get my Cam set up soon. Thanks again Joe,Roger,Craig, Will be seeing you soon again.

I had MACs on my car, and the sound changed a lot, especially after I added an O/R y-pipe. I didn' t really gain too much, but, I am sure that is mostly due to the poopy tune I had for them, at the time. They have good clearance, and have good plug access. They were a bitch to install on my car though. My QTPs were WAY easier to install. But, they are nice

No one really down grades them on here. I have seen tons of threads saying how they flow just as good as long tubes with porting the primaries and such. The only thing that holds me back is the rubbing against the steering column that everyone gets. I need something that fits without modifying the vehicle. The headers are suppose to be made for the car, not the other way around. This is why I am going with pacesetter headers once again.

Hey mrr23, do the bassani mid lengths move the cats from their stock location? I heard they are 49 states legal and may get a CARB #. Is this true?

Sorry for the hijack.

yes they move the cats to a completely different place.

http://www.stealthram.com/bassaniheadersinstall.html

here's plenty of pics showing where the new cats get moved to. on 98-99 models, the passenger cat doesn't get moved. the driver's side does. for 00-02 they both get put into different places.

Yeah, i've got them on my 98' and they are nothing to write home about. They are a quality made header, they just don't perform like a mid or longtube. I just wish there were more options for us poor people in the strictly CARB controlled state of California.
