Default my new exhaust system Modular( long)

hi,

I wanted to see what you guys think of my exhaust system , that I ll get install next week

I have a stock 02 TA m6 with 36000 miles o the clock ( I have a TSP lid too)
I ve been reading every single post about exhaust on ls1tech and listen to everything on ls1sounds.com. I started by getting a Hooker aerochamber muffler ( sounded good but very quiet almost like stock)

then I just wanted a little louder better sound( low $), so I got a flowmaster, which is not installed ( right now still Hooker)
( or slowmaster, corkmaster, crapmaster, how other nicknames?)
basically I knew about that the flow suck as far as perf but I figured out that on a stock ls1 it wouldnt make much difference

THen 3 days ago I got a GMMG cat-back from a ls1tech member
I needed tips, 3inch i-pipe, its still in the mail, cant wait to hear it in person
I heard it sounds 300 times better in persons , will see....

so my plan is to get the GMMG cat back install and ask the shop to clamp the chambered muffler section and not weld it so I can easly switch between
Hooker,Flow,GMMG

I figure out that will be also a good idea if I end up getting LT and catted y

what do you guys think?

Thanks to LS1tech guys ,I got all those stuff for very low $

what do you guys think of this idea of modular cat back ??

That sounds like a lot of trouble and the older exhaust parts get the harder they are to get apart. I have the hooker on my car and I thought it was quiet until I put headers and an ORY on it then it got so loud and raspy that I bought a bullet and put it in the I-pipe to quiet it down. I think you will have a hard time trying to get the hooker and flowmaster muffler(different case lengths and sizes) to fit in the place of the chambered portion of the GMMG. If you are deadset on this idea I would get 3 bolt flanges welded on the pipes that will stay on the car and also have some welded on the mufflers themselves. If it were me I would just throw the GMMG on there and sell the other two mufflers. That's my .02. Good luck and if you get it to work let's see some pics.

thanks for your imput Hugger,
well I didnt really know how much work would be needed to do this modular thing...
a 3bolt flange sounds like a good idea but again I dont want to spend 200$ on labbor
selling those mufflers is still a possibility ( stuff on ls1tech sells really quick)
Its pretty much depending on how much work it would get to make this thing possible
if not I ll put on the GMMG on , anyway its going first
anybody else has an idea on how I could make this thing modular easly switch between the 3 muffflers
??
thanks

Trust me, just have them install the GMMG and sell that other crap.

Now if you plan on getting headers, !cats, or anything like that maybe hold on to the hooker, just incase.

Basically your just wasting your time and money with this modular thing. GMMG sounds awesome, and you won't want that other stuff on there.
