I was wondering if these headers still look good after thousands of miles, and if they need any coating. Does any part like the welds corrode?

The only thing coating will do for a good set of stainless headers (read: nice 304 not crappy 409) is help hold a little more of the heat in, which can be beneficial if you're looking for every last bit of power (and it helps keep the engine bay a little cooler). But it certainly isn't necessary.

From my experience the qtps I bought needed rewelded, among other things. If you do a search you will find my posts about it. Kooks are the way to go, they hold up well and stay clean, and at least fit well.
