Default MSD Digital 6 on '01 Z?

Can you put a Digital 6 box on an '01 Z? How hard is it to hook up? I've done it once on an older car but no late models.

Also, do the MSD coils and wires make a big difference over stock?

i can't say that I would really think it would make that much difference due to the individual coil design. The ls1 has a really decent ignition system to begin with.

you cant use an MSD box.
if you have some miles on the car new wires are a good upgrade.the MSD coils IMHO wouldnt be useful until you get into some ridiculous engine work ie turbos etc(high cylinder pressures) the heads lift on these motors before the spark blows out.
heck i think Harlans car uses stock truck coils

There's an article in the '05 November issue of Hot Rod about the first car with an LS engine to hit sixes. His car is making 1,900 hp, with twin turbos and a nitrous jet to spool them. He runs the stock GM coil packs too!
