is my speedometer off??

is my speedometer off?? ok well i was installing new lights behind the gauge cluster and put it all back together, but didnt notice that since the speedometer needle doenst have a thing to rest on that i squished it behind the black plactic overlay and didnt notice till i started driving that it was like this. now my question is i move the need up and then put the plastic back on then turned on accessories and the needle went down to zero like its suppose to but my question is is my speedometer off, b/c i press the gas and the needle will rest there for a second or two then start to go up is this normal or what???

well its at 1500 rpms at 40 mph so that kinda shows that it isnt off, and when i use to start it the needle for the speeometer would go up but now it doesnt and for some reason i dont think it was suppose to go up anyways. i mean it doesnt drive any different its just i dont want to be goin 75 when i am actually goin 85. but im doing headers and offroad Y here soon along with a tune so if its off they can fix it.

check what rpms you should be at a giving mph and go out on the highway and see if it matches...it not...you messed up.
ps all stock mph gauges are off by like 10% stock i believe.
