Water Pump Impact on CR & Power? Hi,
Does anybody know the difference between the ’04 LS1/2/6 water pump & the ’97-’03 LS1/6? I wonder if the flow rate is higher or the block pressure is raised due to the different thermostat? They raised the compression ratio of the LS2 a bunch with the same cam & heads as the ’01 LS6 so something has changed. Is the water flow path different in the ’04 LS1/6 & the LS2 blocks compared to the early blocks? Would our early engines have a more even temperature distribution with the late pump?
