Intake problem
maybe one of you has the answer.i just put a BBK SSI intake manifold on my car and now it wont stay running. i broke the oil pressure sender on it and replaced it. the car turns over, rev a little high and sputters to a stop. with the sender broken, the gauge read 0, now it is pegged out. if i play with the throttle, it will stay running and gain RPM's with no problem. but when i let it out, it feels like the computer is killing cylinders to shut it down. when i unplug the MAFs, it will stay on but with a high idle. as soon as i plug it in, it dies. i know everything is hookep up right and plugged in. and the Service Engine light is NOT on.
anyone have any ideas? any help would be great. thanks guys
You check your o2 sensors? (Sometimes they seem to have that kind of effect on a motor if damaged or unplugged.)
You have EGR or AIR removed/still installed?
I am also not familiar with that particular intake, so it is hard to say if it is the intake that is causing the problems.
You might have pinched a wire on the harness near the oil pressure sender.
I suspect since the intake is Al it is much easier to short a wire if you catch it.
