Header Bolts

Header Bolts After a header and exhaust install, I have noticed a ticking sound that can only be herd under the car on the drivers side in the header area. The exhaust system has been checked for leaks, and none have been found. The spark plug tightness has also been checked.
The only thing that I can think of is that the header MAY be leaking. Manufacturer spec is 18 ft/lb on the header bolts. Hooker suggests 20-25 ft/lb of torque. I am at about 21 ft/lb.
Does anybody see any harm in going tighter, not above 25 ft/lb, to try to remedy this? Will gasket damage occur?

I know my passenger side header leaked bad at the end of the header. I don't know how long it was leaking for. It was the only place were it was leaking though. I say let it be for now and see if you start to notice any exhaust build up on your heads.
