Default Edelbrock vs Hedman vs Pacesetters

As you can see in my signature below, with those mods does anyone think this header will be too large and thus lose low end power? I dont plan on doing much more than putting on a aftermarket intake manifold sometime.
*Update* After some research, I think the Edelbrock ones are going to be too big... Im leaning to gettin the torque step Hedmans. Anybody know of the ground clearence with these?
Also, what diameter is the primary tubes on stock manifolds?

Edelbrock Victor Series Drag Race Headers with Ti-Tech Coating
Headers, Full Length, Stainless Steel, Ti-Tech Ceramic Coated
Primary tube: 1 3/4 - 1 7/8
Collector Diameter: 3 1/2

If that IS too big for me, would Hedman headers with 1 1/2 - 1 5/8 primary with 3in collector be too small?

Or should I just stick with the popular Pacesetters with 1 3/4 primary and 3in collector?

Hedmans are actually 1 5/8" stepped to 1 3/4", according to Jeg's. Somebody posted about that before on here and confirmed 1 5/8" - 1 3/4".

Hedmans are great for a stock motor, but they dont give you any room to grow

I read that theyre stepped from 1 1/2 to 1 5/8.

Either way I would go with the pacesetters. Edelbrock's have yet to be proven.

Be our guinea pig and try the entire Hedman setup. It's only a tad over $600 for the headers to the tips. I'd really like to try it myself but I'm still waiting for someone else to do some before and after dynos. I'd buy Edelbrocks before I'd buy Pacesetters. The Edelbrock ory looks very nice also.

Ok guys... they ARE 1 & 5/8 to 1 & 3/4... And NO you don't have to buy that whole kit, you CAN get the headers by themselves and the y-pipe by itself.

And there have been guinea pigs, one guy on here has (had?) dozens of pictures posted. They just arent as accessible as the other brands and people get scared off because they think they're not big enough.

Oldeskool, where did you find ones that are 1 & 5/8 to 1 & 3/4? I went to Hedmans website themself, and showed 1 1/2 - 1 5/8. Also found Hedmans that are straight 1 3/4. Ill check Jegs and make them check for sure, if they are in fact 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 I might do those. I think im gonna go with one of those. I know other brands have been "proven" but whose to say another brand can be proven also?
I might just do the Hedman hedder back system like krexken suggested.

What size primarys are stock manifolds? I have Macs on right now, im gonna see what size they are...

Thanks guys for input, keep em comming.

When you say "these", do you mean hedman headers?

Cool

pacesetters are cheap that may make them popular! hooker full leangth race headers are the way to go and yes ceramic coating is a must to keep that heat out of the engine bay as much as possible.my thought is do it once do it right you may only have enough money for something cheap know but if you continue to mod your only buying **** you will eventually need to replace

I went with the Edelbrocks and 3.5" Moroso "Bullets". I wanted a equal length header, I think the QTP's are but I didnt want to spend that much money for them. The Flotech's have better clearance than the Pacesetters, Ive heard.

Hedmans website is incorrect, why? I couldn't tell you. But there was a time when I was interested in them and tracked down a guy who had them and he used a caliper to measure the primaries.

The car will make more power with Edlebrocks. The quality is a ton better with the Edlebrocks. They are right there in the same price range with the Ti_tech coating that will outlast the ceramic stuff. You are better off using the E-brock stuff man. You will not regret that you did. For fitment, price and quailty, E-brocks will walk all over the Pacesetter junk.

I bought the Edelbrocks. They fit great with no problems on the install. Edelbrock always make quality stuff IMO.
