STOCK MAF question!!!!!?
gm put all that **** in there to try to get as much turbulance out of the airflow as possible. i wish all of you would sit 50 minutes through a fluids class and understand the turbulance in an induction system. even the **** that is put in there isnt good enough IMO. either way it is there for a reason. i could go on and on about this but noone seems to care anyway.
yeah the 85mm flows more air. do you need it? prob not if you are at the level of mods that includes a MAF. look at all the guys that have been on this board a long time and see what they do. either way you are still going through the same size TB. sure more air can give you more power, but now you threw off the MAF that was at least half assed calibrated, now its gonna be all screwy.

what you say is true more often than not, though, it seems to vary by car, i got lucky, i personally dont recommend doing it to another car unless you have a spare stock maf just in case (as i do).
