Yes it looks great now, but it will not always look that way - once heat, moisture, etc get to it. Just ask your plater friend.

I wouldn't recommend paint on headers for long-term use. I'm a big believer in ceramic coating. Paint works very well on Y's and duals though.

Anything but the header primaries can be painted with about anything (BBQ grill paint) LOL, but those primaries get pretty hot.
As I said, my header flanges and collectors still look good.
(primaries look like, well, ****)
As for the nickel plating, enjoy it while you can.
Nickel is one of the metals in SS & chrome, but both of those are an alloy of other metals also, Ti, etc.
Damn sure look good though!
It still begs the question: IS there a paint that will withstand the heat of the primaries? I say no, but I hope there is (and affordable). NASA probably has something....
