So whats the deal with that new intake that was at sema? I wasn't very impressed with it.

I guess you do away with the valley cover and bolt this one down like an old style SBC intake. It's deffinatlly diffrent. It'll be interesting to see how many of these products actually make it to the market.

Heat soak is debateable. Composite intakes aren't the reason LS-1's are what they are. Cars have been running aluminum intakes for years and never had much of any problems. While I prefer my composite FAST intake, I wouldn't hesitate to run a Victor Jr. intake on my motor if needed. I'd like to know more about why this intake is open on the bottom and how it seals itself from the lifter valley. If the intake makes the power, then heat soak should be the last of your worries.

Ummm, do you guys not see the bolt holes under the intake for the access cover?

Yeah, he had the cover off so I could get a picture of the internals. He said the LS1/6 one would have a 85mm opening and the LS2 version would have a 95mm opening I believe. I don't know if they are going to be making throttle bodies to go with them or not. I just stopped by and noticed the intake, had never heard of it so I snapped some pictures to see if anyone here had the scoop.

The intake pictured above looks very interesting. Are there any performance results on it?

Also, I was told that there was a 3 X 2 barrel intake for LS1 engines on display at SEMA. Not sure of the vendor though. Does anyone know any info about it?

I was only there for Friday, too poor to stay in Vegas for a whole week on my unemployment check I'll ask around and see if anyone else got some shots/info on it. I didn't get real solid answers on it other than it flowed a certain amount more at higher rpms over the stock LS1 intake, but I couldn't get any numbers out of the guy compared to the LS6 or FAST so I'm not sure how it stacks up. He mostly wanted to talk about his new Mustang intake, I guess he assumed from my 'ford dealership' badge that I liked fords or something...

Lol.......... you could say "he's watching the guy on first base instead of the guy stealing home.........." Thanks for the heads up on this new product for LS1 engines.

That guy also said that the larger volume in the runners was intended for larger displacement engines IIRC. He was really trying to push that mustang intake.. I think we told him that those 3 valves still wouldn't make any good power.

I guess if you want a polished intake at least it's better than the weiand as far as aluminum intakes and they said that they made that access plate to allow for easier porting.
