EGR & AIR

can someone tell me what these are, and why people choose to remove them when buying headers?

do a search...... EGR is exhaust gas resirc. the stock exhaust manifolds have that little out let on top of them which gets resirculated into your intake....... some headers dont have provisions for egr.... thats why people get rid of the whole egr system.

AIR system heats the cats on a cold start. People take it out to clean up the engine bay, and since most of them dont have cats, its pointless to heat them up. EGR is mostly to clean up the engine bay.

Aftermarket intake manifolds do not have EGR provision except for the SLP LS6 intake, so people dump this with their intake swaps..the rest is pretty much covered above
