Default Header install checklist and questions...

I finally ordered a set of QTP 1 3/4" race style headers, and as soon as my Lane's exhaust comes in, i'll be installing them. Before that time comes though, I want to make sure I have everything I need. I've done quite a bit of reserach on the boards, so I have a pretty good idea of what's going on, but I just want to make sure.

I"m gonna go ahead and order a new set of GM gaskets, but i'm unsure of which route to take in terms of fasteners. I've seen several "stock bolt vs. stage 8 vs. arp header stud" threads, and regardless of how many people do it, I won't reuse the stock bolts, simply for my peace of mind. Which leaves the stage 8 bolts and studs; my main question is how much more difficult do studs make the install, since there isn't as much room to manuever with the studs installed.

On the electrical side...the system Lane is gonna build me is going to have cats, so would I reuse the stock 02 sensors (with extensions) or just get simms? I would think I could keep the 02s, but then again, I don't know how prone they are to fouling with LTs.

Is it worth polishing my QTPs, or will it tarnish regardless due to the heat? I didn't know they shipped out in "raw" form...I guess I was expecting what the picture showed on their site. And if the polished look will withstand the heat, how do I go about doing that?

Finally, kind of a dumb question, but exactly what will I have to do to mate the headers to the rest of the exhaust system? Will it require welding flanges to the end of the collector (all of the headers i've installed before have had those triangulated flanges, but those were also all small block Chevy vehicles), or does it just slip onto the exhaust piping and then secured with clamps?

Thanks all.

-Chris

I used the bolts that came with my headers and they seem to be working fine for me.
I have a Jet Hot Catted y and on the drivers side it set of the SES light so I had to get a sim, but on the passenger side I was able to get by with just the extension.
Part of it could be the fact that the jet hot cats are **** so I think you would be able to get by with just the extensions
