Just installed Pacesetter Headers w/ORY
I installed Pacesetter Headers with an ORY PIPE, and after install I turned the car on, its loud, but not the RUMBLE I'm looking for. Before I installed them the headers were stock and I had a cutout as well as Flowmaster Dual Pipe -- which was the best sounding so far. I want what that sounded like but louder, so I installed headers, but like I said, its loud, but not throaty.. If I were to install Fast Flow cats do you think it would sound more throaty? I put the cutout plate on due to excessive loudness... Let me know on anyone who has done this or anyone who has ideas -- when I drive down the road, I want people to think 'damned that sounds nice' not 'that guy needs a new muffler' -- -
Ok, here we go:
-If you want throaty, keep your ORY pipe. Putting cats on will only make it more mellow and quieter.
-Don't put the Loudmouth on. That will only get you the "that guy needs a muffler" sound.
-If you want a rumble, a cam will do that for you. If you're looking for a catback to do it, I'd say go with either GMMG or maybe Magnaflow. I know my Magnaflow with LTs and ORY had a nice, deep gurgle and rumble to it. GMMG just always has that sound though.
Good luck.

Complete die-hards of iron blocks/old school muscle/big block-type sounds may never be happy with an LS1.
The rest of us just find ways and combinations of exhaust and cam work to make the LS1 create sounds worth drooling over.
Ditch the ORY and get some true duals. I have personally had 16 or 17 different exhaust setups over the past year and like the TD setup sounded the best, hands down. The best being 3" X pipe and Sweet Thunders. Nice deep rumble in the lower rpm's and screamed at WOT...
Please keep in mind that this is my honest opinion and others may differ

You could try a loudmouth cat-back.
