bad ignition coils?
went down to autozone, and they pulled the codes.
they found the B, D, F, and H ignition coils all came back with codes.
is it pretty conclusive that I need to replace them?
is it worth the time to swap those with the other 4 and see if the codes follow them?
anything else I need to check before I replace them?
do I need to replace all 8 at a time?
are the MSD blaster coils worth the extra money?
(this car has over 180,000 miles, so I'm thinking I'll probably go as cheap as possible.)
where's the best place to buy the coils?
thanks
(lol, that was a few more questions than I expected)
Also did you see the codes say bad coil or did the guy tell you that, I work at a parts store and you would be suprised how dumb some people can be who work at those places. Yesterday someone I work with tried telling a customer the reason her car wouldnt start was b/c her car needed antifreeze
Yeah, I did actually see the codes for the coils come up.
But I haven't had the time to try swapping them yet.
I read somewhere the coils on the 98 were installed slightly differently than in other years.
Is this true?
Any good link for install instructions? (I tried installuniversity.com with no luck)
