exhaust system questions

exhaust system questions I purchased my car which has the flowmaster cat back on it (probably 3-4 years old) and am in the process of modifying the car and need to know whether it is worth ditching the flowmaster and getting a hooker cat back or if I would have more power to be gained with a true dual system. I don't want to get the hooker only to find out later that more power could be had from a true dual system. I have heard about the tsp & lanes dual systems, but not sure it I want a car that noisy since they dump under the car. If I can get similar power/torque by going with a hooker system that's the way I want to go especially if I can get it pretty cheap from TSP.
My current mods on my 99 a4 ta with 3.23 gears
flowmaster cat back
lid & filter
180 thermostat
smooth bellows
hypertech (I know that it sucks and will ditch it soon)
free ram air
self ported tb
my mods on order
ud pulley
coated pacesetter headers
tsp ory pipe
mods soon (by spring)
cam 224 or larger
ls6 intake
convertor 3200-3600
custom tune
nitto drag radials
ported heads ??? (maybe)
any help would be appreciated...and yes I have searched (there is conflicting info)

The more the exhaust is free flowing the better... so if you can get two 2.5" pipes for the exhaust to travel through, instead of one 3.5" pipe, than you're going to make more power, due to the fact there is more room between the two 2.5" pipes than the single 3.5" pipe. also depends on if you'd be running mufflers with the duals, how well the mufflers flow, etc.; and if you'd want good ground clearance, exhaust running all the way out the back to some tips, etc...
The cheapest way to get the best flowing exhaust (pretty much) is to just have a catback of choice, with a cutout in the I-pipe, or better yet, two cutouts in the y-pipe.
