Default underdrive pulley

will putting on an overdrive pulley for the alternator cancel out the purpose of installing an underdrive crank pulley? Just bored at work with visions of the track.

It won't totally negate the underdrive but it will be robbing you of some power, best bet would be to get tuning software and raise your idle.

Overdrive alternator pullies are not necesary for M6 cars and will - some hp. An underdrive pulley only offers a small gain, so why take away part of it? Most people would not even notice the negative side effects on an M6 car. If you have an A4 and have to use an alternator pulley, it might not be worth the gain.

I have the SLP underdrive pulley and love it. I also have alternator pulley because I have a lot of electrical items on my car and need the alt. to work its best. I have an electric water pump, 2 amps, shift light(NOT MUCH), nitrous system with 4 solinoids, TPS switch, bottle heater, bottle opener, timing tuner(once again not drawing much power), head light mod where all 4 lights go on when I use my brights, and my car still charges in the normal range when I get as much of that stuff working at once as I can. I'm not sure what generation our alternators are but they work GOOD.

i actually am running the underdrive alternator pulley on my m6 hahaha

the power dip every now and again but i thinks its the altornator because when its cold its fine and my idle is set to 900

Alternator gives a full charge at 800rpms with the underdrive pulley. So if your car goes below 800rpms anytime (automatic in drive) you will need an overdrive alternator pulley or just not do the underdrive.
