Default Open Headers??

Ok, I just purchased some ceramic coated Pacesetters LT's (thanks to Thrasher245 ) If i want to run these open without a y-pipe for a while will i see any problems. I will be getting the o2 extensions and everything. I have heard that since they o2 sensors are so close to the opening they freak out and read too much oxygen and make the car run rich. and we all know lean=mean. Will I really encounter any problems just running these headers open for a while?

Yeah you can get away with a 100 miles or so I am guessing. But the O2's do not like fresh air, so I would not run them for long like that.

If you plan to run open headers for awhile pick up acouple of 16-18" long 3" pipes to use as extensions. The car will be much happier this way.

running with mods i have i almost always jack the car up remove y-pipe and install a hanger i made for the exhaust so it doesnt hang down. i run it about 2 hours each way to and from the track like that and it does run very rich, but ive never had a blown o2 or anything go wrong because of it...

I'm running open Pacesetters right now...get a y-pipe as soon as humanly possible. Its practically unbearable on the highway. My A/F ratio is all the hell over the place, and it runs REALLY badly at higher speeds (I'm guessing oxygen is finding its way to the sensors). I really don't recommend doing it for longer than absolutely necessary. I'm putting in a y-pipe tomorrow.
