Default alternator

I hope this is in the right section, if not can a moderator move it to where it belongs. I am about to replace the alternator in my camaro and i was thinking of getting either the 160 amp or 200 amp from afterthoughts auto. I have a crank pulley on the car so i put an overdrive pulley on my alternator. My questions are 1) Should i put the overdrive pulley on the higher output alternator? 2) Would an overdrive pulley cause anyproblems with the higher output alternator? 3)If anyone has used this alternator or recomends another please any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

The overdrive pulley will not cause any problems at all. You will see full output from the alternator a few rpm's earlier. The voltage regulator will make sure that the alt. does not 'overcharge'.

Is there a downside to putting "to much" alternator?
