Help problem with ATI damper on Vette

Help problem with ATI damper on Vette I just received the 917266 ATI damper, alu shell, hub and AC pulley.
FWIW it weighs over a pound more than the OEM damper.
My problem is that the hub is too long and the front pulley sits almost 1/2" too far forward.
Any thoughts?
